چکیده
Abstract Background Particulate matter (PM) is strongly linked to human health and has detrimental effects on the eye. Studies have, however, focused ocular surface, with limited research impact of PM 2.5 intraocular pressure (IOP). Methods To investigate IOP associated mechanism, C57BL/6 mouse eyes were topically exposed a suspension for 3 months, trabecular meshwork (HTM) cells subjected various concentrations in vitro. Cell viability, NLRP3/caspase-1, IL-1β, GSDMD expression, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production cell contractility measured by western blot, ELISA, counting kit-8, ROS assay kit or assay. scavenger N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) caspase-1 inhibitor VX-765 used intervene -induced damages. Results The results revealed that increased gradually after exposure, upregulations NLRP3 inflammasome, caspase-1, protein levels observed outflow tissues. exposure decreased HTM viability affected contraction. Furthermore, elevated as well an activation inflammasome downstream inflammatory factors IL-1β. NAC improved inhibited axis, contraction scavenging ROS. showed similar protection against induced adverse effects. Conclusion This study provides novel evidence direct toxic effect tissues may contribute initiation development hypertension glaucoma. occurs result oxidative stress subsequent induction mediated pyroptosis cells.

Measures such as improved process design, operation, maintenance, housekeeping, and other management practices can reduce emissions. By improving combustion efficiency, the amount of products of incomplete combustion (PICs), a component of particulate matter, can be significantly reduced. Proper fuel-firing practices and combustion zone configuration, along with an adequate amount of excess air...

Epidemiological studies have shown a strong link between air pollution and the increase of cardio-pulmonary mortality and morbidity. In particular, inhaled airborne particulate matter (PM) exposure is closely associated with the pathogenesis of air pollution-induced systemic diseases. In this study, we exposed C57BIV6 mice to environmentally relevant PM in fine and ultra fine ranges (diameter <...

Mutagenic activity of extractable organic matter (EOM), from airborne particles collected over winters in four towns of Czech Republic, was investigated by the means of Salmonella typhimurium indicator strains TA98 and YG1041 using the Ames plate incorporation assay. Mutagenicity of all tested samples showed significant dose-related increase in number of revertants per mg of EOM. The direct mut...
